TruckTidy is owned and operated by Active Corporation Inc., Ontario, Canada ("TruckTidy", "we", "us" or "our"). We respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit trucktidy.ca or buy from us, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Contact and order details: name, email address, phone number, and shipping and billing addresses.
  • Account details: if you create an account, your login information and order history.
  • Payment details: payments are processed by our payment providers. TruckTidy does not see or store your full card number. We may see limited details, such as the card type and last four digits.
  • Support and returns: messages, photos and order details you send us about questions, returns, damage or warranty claims.
  • Warranty registration: for AMPLock products, the information you submit on our Warranty Registration page, including your lock's key code.
  • Reviews and submissions: reviews, photos or comments you choose to share.
  • Vehicle details: information about your vehicle or trailer that you enter to find compatible products.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked, referring website, and approximate location based on your IP address.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Process, ship and track your orders, and handle cancellations, returns, refunds and exchanges.
  • Register AMPLock products for warranty, and handle warranty and key replacement requests.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your messages.
  • Operate, secure and improve our website, including preventing fraud.
  • Understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it.
  • Send marketing emails, only if you have agreed to receive them.
  • Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We only use your information for the purposes described here, or for other purposes with your consent or as permitted or required by law.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed for the purposes above:

  • Brands that ship your order: some products, including AMPLock products, are shipped directly to you by the brand. For those items, we share your name, shipping address, phone number and order details with the brand so it can fulfil your order.
  • AMPLock warranty registration: when you register an AMPLock product, we share the registration information you provide, including your key code, with AMPLock so it can activate your warranty and support key replacements.
  • Service providers: companies that help us run the store, including our e-commerce platform (Shopify), payment processors, shipping carriers, email service providers, and analytics providers such as Google and Microsoft. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of TruckTidy, our customers or others.
  • Business transfers: if our business is sold or merged, personal information may be transferred to the new owner, subject to this policy.

Products we stock ourselves, such as Tmat products, are shipped by TruckTidy. We do not share your information with Tmat for those orders.

Key Codes

A key code can be used to order a matching key, so we treat it as sensitive. We use key codes only for warranty registration, key replacement, and matching locks you order (Keyed Alike). We limit access to them and share them only with AMPLock.

Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the store (for example, to keep items in your cart), to remember your preferences, and to understand how visitors use the site.

  • Google Analytics helps us understand traffic and how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and how long visits last. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Microsoft Clarity helps us improve the site by showing how visitors interact with pages, including clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, through heatmaps and session replays. Clarity is set up to mask information you type into forms. Learn more in Microsoft's privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com.

You can manage cookie preferences through our cookie banner, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

Marketing Emails

We send marketing emails only to people who have agreed to receive them. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Even if you unsubscribe, we will still send emails about your orders, returns and warranty registration.

Where Your Information Is Stored

Our service providers, including Shopify, Google and Microsoft, may store and process your information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it may be accessible to authorities in that country under its laws.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy. Order and transaction records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, generally six years. Warranty registration information is kept for as long as the warranty applies.

How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted (SSL) connections, secure payment processing, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights and Choices

You can ask us to:

  • Give you access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal, tax or accounting reasons.
  • Withdraw your consent to a particular use, subject to legal or contractual limits. Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to process orders or provide some services.

To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Children

Our website is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
